hello =)
went to catch Batman last night with some of the Young Adults. Was an ok show. I prefer Kingdom of Heaven though. Then I got teased so much by those three guys until Jean, Ann and Pris saved me :) (what I was teased about you don't wanna know.. ha ha) Really, there is a light hearted side to even the most serious of guys *winks* and it's good to know.
Talking about sense of humour, I think there are different sides to a person. There are of course those that crack jokes to attract attention. But there are others who tries to lighten up others life by laughter and giggles, and there are also those that use laughter to distract others from their fears and worries. And I'm glad to have known such people. I'm thinking of the Ya Ya camp. Really, I haven't been able to thank my group members for making my time in the Ya Ya camp memorable, and the organisers too of course.
Let's see, I think our team really bonded during the night walk in Pula Ubin. We walked 16 k through the night. Imagine that! But thanks to Andrew JJ, who had been there like 11 times, we survived it. :) We as a team suffered a few minor injuries. Kyser fell and injured his knee during the sissors, paper, stone game and we had to call on the "medic" who was Colin to remove the so called "stone" in his hand which turn out to be the cut that caused the pain. False alarm!! Poor Mark also was dis-illusioned and fell into the bushes. Ying Ci had to pluck out the thorn from his thigh. but it's cool. He's cool. anyway, (don't I sound like Pastor? ha ha) Anyway, we had this formation thing through out the dark darkk walk. JJ was ahead of course, followed by Grace and Debroah, then Mark and I and finally the trio, ever hugging each other (ok, that's exaggerating) : Sharon, Kyser and Daniel. It was what people that boosted our group?? Corn beef I tell you. The guys were so driven by the thought of they themselves cooking corn beef at the end of our destination, that they were practically prancing ahead! And of course horrible singing, of the right songs that is (definately not the song Lonely, I'm so Lonely), kept us moving on :) And laughter is indeed a really good medicine in times like these.
I can and definately can ramble on and on about how encouraging the camp was, and how good God has been to me. The murder game, the amazing race, the telematches etc etc. But really, what I learnt was that it was good to be in a group that was really positive about things. That the mixture of talents brought forth the good in each individual. I suppose our group's main objective was to have fun and build each other up. I learnt something really important. Even though we decided not to be competive but have a good time as our main objective, God still blessed us and we came in tops. Even for the amazing race group, we started off as the first group but even came in last, we got a prize for the best bowlers. And seriously, I can't bowl. Have two empty slots in a row. I wonder if it's only like that in the Christian circle. But I'm reminded that I shouldn't doubt. I believe in the verse "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart" Psalm 37:4
Really, a lot has happened to me during the course of this 6 months of wait to go to the Uni. If I have the time, I will share it with you. So, do keep me in your prayers as I venture in new ground. God Bless. :)
